Psycotherapy, Counselling and Coaching

In psychotherapy different techniques and approaches can be used.  Let's discuss together which one suits you the best.  Every person is unique so it is the psychotherapeutic process, which is tailored made for each one.

I am a psychoanalist who also work with cognitive behavioural therapy, E.M.D.R. and mindfulness.

PSYCOTHERAPY

I use different techniques, highly tailored made according to the necessities and issues the client is dealing with.  The first step is getting to accurate diagnoses in order to plan together with the client the most suitable treatment.

These are the different therapeutic approaches:

  • Cognitive Behaviour therapy:  individuals identify patterns of thoughts, feelings, behaviours and actions that are repeated, reinforcing negativity and being trapped in difficult cycles.  It is focused on the present rather than the past.  It has been proved effective for the treatment of depression and anxiety disorders, panic attacks and eating disorders.

  • E.M.D.R.: Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing and well known and used for the treatment of traumas.  As the brain has been unable to process the trauma, continuous flashbacks, nightmares and other symptoms come up.  This technique allows the brain to process the trauma and therefore, it does not affect the present.

  • Mindfulness: awareness of your body, mind and present, which has shown to be effective in the treatment of reducing anxiety, depression and chronic pain among others.  Enhance the overall wellbeing.

  • Positive psychology:  The approach focuses on the strengths instead of focusing on the weaknesses.  It is used combined with other approaches.

  • Psychoanalysis: Used to go deeper on the roots that cause some of the symptoms and disorders.  Effective after starting with some of the previous approaches.

COUNSELLING

Using different techniques I will help you to approach to difficulties you have at this moment, right now. No work with the unconscious, the work is focused in resolving what is causing you suffer right now, using the tools and skills that you have and maybe you don’t realize that you have them or building up new ones.  It also helps you to develop better communicative and relationship skills and as a result you will improve your personal development and general wellbeing.

COACHING

We use your strengths as a starting point to build up stronger ones and more.  The tools aim to make you learn more about yourself and will help you to achieve your goals both in your personal life and in your professional career.

It is focused in the present and it will give you the chance to see clearly the opportunities and strengths that you have.
